The Book You Want Everyone You Love* To Read *(and Maybe a Few You Don't) by Philippa Perry

4.0

An approachable read, exploring common human concerns using readers letters (emails) as springboards to explore techniques and ways of processing.

I can’t work out if I’m in denial, or if I feel pretty content with my life (the latter) as nothing particularly grabbed me. I have read my share of self help books in my time and had Eureka moments as pieces of my psychological puzzle fell into place.
Additionally as a regular reader of Philippa’s Observer column I recognised many of the letters, therefore some of her responses and explorations.

That doesn’t stop me recommending the book, the more we can be aware of ourselves and how others experience life, the better. For society, for community and for individuals, we need compassion and empathy now more than ever.
