How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi

5.0

Highly highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to be a better ally to the BLM movement. It may be a challenge and it may be a shock, but it's worth reading.

This book talks about challenging subjects, like the dual nature of capitalism and racism and how those things grew together. It talks about how supporting feminism and intersectionality is necessary to defeat racism. And it talks about how anyone can be racist if they support policies and actions that create racial disparity.

"The saying “Black people can’t be racist” reproduces the false duality of racist and not-racist promoted by White racists to deny their racism. It merges Black people with White Trump voters who are angry about being called racist but who want to express racist views and support their racist policies while being identified as not-racist, no matter what they say or do."

In fact, this book calls out Obama for racist actions he performed while President.

This one should be on your list.
