The Two Noble Kinsmen by John Fletcher, William Shakespeare
4.0
The Two Nobel Kinsmen was probably written as a collaborative project. It dramatises The Knights Tale by Chaucer.
I didn’t expect to like this one, but …never go into a book with expectations .. I did like this story. It was atrociously anti feminist but also pretty damning on the male characters too.. but it was readable and entertaining despite all.
This is likely to be Shakespeares last play before he went home to Stratford upon Avon, where he died not very much longer afterwards.
It bothers me no end that there is not an RSC edition of this play and I had to upset my collection with a different edition (Oxford World Classics)… first world problem I know.. but still ☹️
