Is it earth-shattering? No! Life-changing? Of course not! But "Funny Story" is still an enjoyable journey with lovable characters and a storybook ending and sometimes that's what we need.

And now that I've finished my second Emily Henry book let me just say that hers might be the best ~*men-written-by-a-woman*~ characters that I've encountered. Sure her male leads are raising expectations for real men everywhere, but is that really so wrong?! If wanting to jump inside the story and live happily ever after with Miles is wrong then whatever, I don't need to be right.

Just make sure you pick this one up when you're really in the mood for romance and froth... though she does introduce some heavier themes—parental abandonment being the frontrunner there—that's not really what this story is going for. And I think you already know that.
