The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda

4.0

A very detailed and twisted plot of murder, that will have you guessing till the end.....

Leah is running. She is running away from her past. A past that haunts her and ruined her career in journalism. Upon the journey to a new start, Leah tags along with her friend Emmy on what is supposed to be a spontaneous choice. A dart thrown at a map lands Leah in rural Pennsylvania and unaware of the secrets that lie in wait.

When a woman winds up attacked and left for dead, Leah discovers that her roommate Emmy is missing as well. With no clues but a broken necklace to guide her, Leah turns to Kyle Don0van to help her in the search of Emmy. But along the way she discovers something much more sinister has happened and all the clues point to her.

Overall this book was a twisted ride. The story plot was laid out well and the timeline jumps back and forth between the present and past. We get small clues along the way to help us solve the mystery along with our main character. The book has several characters who seem to be dark shady people, not to mention the small town mentality that the book is set in.

The story flowed nicely and I was bummed at the ending, expecting a bit of action, but was satisfied with it. If you love a twisted mystery then this book is perfect for you. It is full of mysterious and dark characters with loads of deception. What a way to write a murder mystery than with a ton of lies and deceit. The perfect combinations.
