Colin and the Concubine by Domhnall O'Donoghue

5.0

Some off-scene s*x scenes, some violence

In this book we first meet Freddie who's in need of a kidney. He goes to his younger brother in search for help...
After this, we are taken back into the past and we dive deep into the lives of brothers Colin and Freddie. We also dive into the past of Azra who grew up in Istanbul and has quite the reputation.

This book is full of light humour, some emotional scenes and of course, some sibling rivalry. Reading this book was quite easy and I found that I flew through this. The story was written lightly and everything within flowed easily. As the reader, I happily dived into this book not knowing what exactly to expect.

I feel that through the characters of this book, O'Donoghue has shown us that each person views life in a different way. Where some people may see flaws, others see opportunity.

I definitely found myself enjoying this read! I was both laughing and crying, unsure which emotion won in the end.
I am in love with the ending though and am really glad for that little victory for Colin. A little proud moment is what I felt for Colin and I really hope that Freddie and Colin may learn to see through their differences sometime soon.

Altogether, this book was a beautiful read that really made me feel at home and in comfort.
I highly recommend!
