<The first half of this book was both slow and beautiful. Spent so long getting to know all the characters, learnt to love Mrs S.
The second half flew by. But not in the way I had expected, being queer and learning how to be queer and what kind of queerness you feel comfortable or capable of expressing. The slow realisations you come to as you reflect on yourself and those around you. The shows we each put on for the world, to share our insights without outright showing them, by shyly hoping someone will notice. The picture that longing paints of a person and how it falls away when you begin to know them.>
