How Not to Be Wrong: The Power of Mathematical Thinking by Jordan Ellenberg
4.0
The moment I tell you how fascinating this book about math is, you will stop listening and suggest that it's possible I've been hit in the head. And while that notion is a possibility, let me assure you that Ellenberg takes a subject that I previously gave little thought to and injects it into my world in ways I had not imagined. Mathematics is a cornerstone of how we live and this book explains why. You would do well to read it even if some of the notions make you scratch your head in confusion as they did me. Ellenberg makes math inviting but doesn't dumb it down. I envy the students in his classes. They will learn many, many things beyond simply mathematics.
