Liar, Dreamer, Thief by Maria Dong

5.0

4.5: Intense read, as in, oh my cats this chick is nuts!! Not for the obvious reasons (the other world she can slip in and out of and the things she sees that aren’t real), but because she is relentlessly selfish, destructive, and naive?? Stupid?? I don’t even know how to describe it other than it gives mad “Gone Girl” vibes in a truly wtf manner. I love the way the author incorporates the Korean fairytale/legend in the book; it reminded me a lot of “Folklore.” I feel that due to the intensity and fast pace, some things could have been delved into with more detail, but overall, it’s a really compelling page-turner. I would definitely read another book by this author.
