I'm not sure what it was about this book. Maybe the classical fantasy setting, with dragons and and lost and abandoned bastions with hidden lairs. But something about The Exile reminds me of Skyrim, and it's better for it. The vibes matched for me so much, that I even redownload the game.

Despite that connection, this books is very good. Fast, short, and focused, things happen ina quick and intense way. Leaving you wanting more.
