The House of Whispers by C. Hebert
3.5
The House of Whispers is retelling combination of Jack the Ripper x Jekyll – Hyde.
This dark romance story is not for the faint heart, I highly suggest checking the trigger warnings below before reading this book.
If you don’t mind the trigger warnings, these tropes will await you on this book:
Dark Fantasy Horror/Romance

I was immediately intrigue with the unique retelling combination.
This story was told from multiple POVs with one of them being an unreliable narrator, which makes me doubt my theory so many times while I was reading this book.
I got hooked into the story really fast at the beginning but after a while somewhere in the middle things started to get slightly repetitive and the pacing also turned slower.
The pace picked up again near the ending with the big reveal. While I could guess the twist pretty early in the beginning, it was still surprising to know about the 'HOW'.
While there are some things that made me didn’t fully enjoy the whole story, overall this was still a pretty good read. It was something different since it’s not a book I would usually pick up but the plot idea was unique and piqued my interest.
If you’re a fan of dark romance with a thriller twist then this might right up on your alley!
Thank you to RR Book Tours and the author for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!
