This book is beautiful, haunting, full of joy and pain, laughter and death. This book follows a family starting with the 6 day war in 1960s in Palestine and having to flee for safety and become refugees in Kuwait and then having to deal with more displacement, upheaval and life being separated across borders and continents but also still trying to stay together.
With the current genocide of Palestinian people and the images of displacement, pain and suffering it hit hard and I had to take steps back at times to really get through the emotions this book evoked.
