Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward
5.0
Lover Eternal is a story about Mary who agrees to go to the Brotherhood as a sign language interpreter to John Matthew. There she meets Rhage but he's erased from her memories, so Rhage makes Bella, another vampire and Mary's neighbor to arrange them a date.
Rhage is a manwhore but it's not like he likes to be one. It's just that it's one of the only ways that calms down his beast he was cursed with 200 years go (for a stupid reason in my opinion) but at least it taught him something.
I admired Mary. She knew what the brothers were but she was ready to defy them and anything to keep Rhage safe from whatever tried to hurt him.
I felt so bad for Mary, not only does she have a cancer but she's very insecure and felt like she was nothing when truly Rhage really liked her. Her voice alone affected him on their first meeting and Rhage thought that she had a warrior eyes, probably because of everything she has gone through. I loved these two together. There were few complications on the way, of course, bur they clearly loved each other and were there for each other no matter what.
I love how Ward already is giving clues to the upcoming couples. I can't wait to read Bella and Zsadist's book! I like John Matthew, so it's sad that I won't probably read his book, since I don't remember enjoying it. We even got to see Layla and she doesn't get her own book until in book fifteen.
All in all maybe my all time favorite book of this series. I forgot how much I love the relationships the brothers have with each other until I read Lover Eternal. We got to see a little in the last book but Wrath is their leader, so it felt a little different. I don't think I'd change anything about this book even if I could.
