The Greek Revolution: 1821 and the Making of Modern Europe by Mark Mazower

4.0

You will find no better comprehensive history of the Greek Revolution than is contained in these pages. Mazower expertly describes its political and military aspects while giving due diligence to the wider implications of Greek independence to the development of a modern European identity. It can get slightly tedious to read as the chapters tend to run long, but otherwise this is the source one needs to go to if one wants to understand this critically under-studied part of early modern history.
