Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer

challenging hopeful informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

This is one of the most powerful books I have read in a long, long time. So many deeply moving, deeply necessary teachings — it has already begun to transform the ways I relate to the world and to my own lived experience.

I think this is a particularly important book for those who feel paralyzed by ecological anxiety and grief (myself included). Though it’s by no means strictly about climate change, Wall Kimmerer offers both practical and spiritual lessons that can help us to reconnect with the world and find both grounding and momentum in the struggle against environmental destruction.
