Uppiniskaisuuden kronikka : Balthasar Russowin tarina by Jaan Kross
5.0
This took a while to read... But well worth it, this was an amazing story and an interesting view to the Estonia in the 16th century. I didn't know much about the area in those times, now I'm much wiser.
This is a story of Balthasar Russow, who is a real, historical person, notable for his Livonian Chronicle. Writing that chronicle is a big part of this novel, but there's more to this, as the book covers Russow's whole life, from boyhood to deathbed.
For the fans of historical fiction and those interested in the era or the area, this is highly recommended.
