Hell House by Richard Matheson

DNFed at about 50 pages or so.
While Matheson writes well, I’m afraid that neither the story nor the characters could draw me in.
The plot reads like most of the cheap horror movies you might find on Netflix and the characters are all flat and boring.
Skipping ahead and reading passages from the middle of the novel, I can safely say that Matheson aimed to terrify his readers with overdone cliches of gore and sexual depravity.
It’s honestly not my cup of tea so as much as I hate leaving books unfinished I’d rather not waste my time. Though I’ve heard a lot of praise for his other works, so I’ll make a note to give Matheson a second chance in the future.
