The Happiness Advantage: The Seven Principles of Positive Psychology That Fuel Success and Performance at Work by Shawn Achor
5.0
a great read for anyone looking to work on their own happiness, whether or not they are business-minded. though many of the examples in the book come from work life, it's easy to extend the same principles to personal life.
while some may criticize this book as simply espousing common sense, the author himself wryly notes, "common sense is not common action"---if it were, a lot of people would be leading healthier and happier lives than they actually do. what makes this book especially valuable is that, in addition to supporting "common sense" with many rigorous studies in psychology, neuroscience, etc., it gives the reader concrete exercises to try in their own lives, as well as tips for learning and reinforcing good habits, while discouraging bad ones.
