There's nothing I love more than books where the guy is A TOTAL SUCKER for the girl. I just love me some - when he falls first and fell EVEN harder . Yup. That's it. That made me so giddy :')
A new start to a new series, and after reading all of Elsie Silver's works (yes all), this one was not the best (for real Willa's book won, sorry Ford) but it was not her worst either. I would say, It fell towards the middle, more so because I'm kind of used to her writing so I expected a little bit more? But, I came to a realization that one of my fav romance authors, may not write the best friends to lovers? or basically, not the push and pull from a familiar friendship . It happened with Jasper's book (Powerless) which I had such high hopes for, and it kind of happened to this book here in the first half of the book.
BUT THE SECOND HALF? ooof I love it. And Good Lord, bless me men who are not afraid to be vulnerable in front of a woman that he likes. Ford freaking Grant? The way this man made me actually teared up. And while the buildup was a bit me, but the second half really saved the book. I love Ford's character progression, and we also get a healthy way to ease communication. I was a bit worried that they will have some sort of conflict at the end, but I liked that it blends in the story and showed how relationships are messy but its also about them wanting to work as a team and partners.
Again, Ford freaking Grant is on top of my list tho. Man's it for me. But lowkey I CAN'T WAIT FOR WEST'S BOOK THOOOOOOO. OMFG PLEASE WILD EYES CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH CAUSE THE BLURB??????????? IM ALREADY SO EXCITED FOR IT YEEEP.
Can't wait to see more of the gang for Rosie Hill! Might be a fun ride tho, especially with their bowling gang hahahaha.
