While I really enjoyed the first book, I just could not find anything in this book that could hold my attention longer than 30% of this book. The plot and characters felt too much like the first book. The only difference was the characters were tweaked just a bit to make them not exact carbon copies of the first characters.

Additionally, the pacing felt very slow and the writing lacked the same level of excitement and energy that I found in the first book. I found myself struggling to get through each chapter and was constantly tempted to put the book down and move on to something else.

The storytelling also felt disjointed and lacked a clear direction. I didn't feel invested in the plot or the characters' emotional journeys. Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first one.

So, with that said, I think this book will go into the DNF pile for the time being.
