I slept on writing this review hoping to gather my thoughts. No dice. I’m sitting here trying to piece together what I want to say and still coming up short.

This is probably my least favorite of the series so far. I never thought I would say this at the beginning but I’m so tired of everything being about Carter. He’s not the only survivor. I KNOW this runs concurrently, I KNOW I’m reading about his brother who’s main focus was his brother and the reason he got kidnapped, but he flat out told Nolan he would go wherever Carter went and asked if he would come with him. Honestly that broke my heart. It didn’t for the character but it did for mine. Why is everyone coming second place to Carter, especially now that Maison is in a relationship?

Nolan is my favorite in this book. He puts everyone before himself. I wanted to shake Maison when Nolan told him what he NEEDED and how he reacted. Maison yet again thinking he knows what’s best for everyone instead of letting them decide for themselves.

Maison is a complicated person. I’m looking forward to seeing how things progress in the next book.

Honestly, throuples are NOT my jam but I’m begging Hunter to come into the picture at the point and save these two.
