Far from the Tree by Robin Benway
5.0
Let's just cut to the chase...I basically cried my way through this book. As in, full on ugly cry. It was not pretty. But this book, oh my goodness, it is beautiful. ♥️Far From the Tree is a YA novel about three siblings, adopted at a young age, who find each other again when they need each other the most. Joaquin, the oldest, has been in and out of foster homes his whole life. His new foster parents are wonderful to him but he is wary and has his wall up to avoid getting hurt again. Grace, the middle child, has been abandoned by her boyfriend as a pregnant teen and has just given her baby up for adoption. Rounding out the trio is Maya, who was adopted into a loving family that is now falling apart. One of them finds paperwork that leads them to the others and the siblings are reunited. They are in disagreement on whether or not to find their birth mother and find out why she gave them up so many years ago. We see them find their way to each other and into each other's hearts. This is a fabulous exploration into family and a heart warming tale about siblings. For me, this was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars. This is going on my top reads of the year list.
