We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
5.0
We Should All Read This Book. Period.
This book is important, but to me personally, it was perfect! And I read this book at the perfect time.
Someone once said to me that if you watched Chimamanda's Ted Talk, then you don't need to read this book, so I put it off for years.
Upon reading it, I definitely completely disagree with that statement. Chimamanda's experiences and the anecdotes she added in this book is what makes her story relatable- I think that is because Chimamanda was extracting pieces of her life, of her society- That is like my own society- and especially with me, I found how I was put in similar situations as her in my life. And that what made this book accessible, yet not too simple.
I also realized, that I had went through the same thought process as she did in coming in terms with my feminism.
I listened to the Audiobook, which was only 45 mins, but now I want to own a physical copy.
