One would think that the words "interesting" and "underwhelming" would be polar opposites, and yet this book managed to be both for me. I was absolutely hooked from beginning to end because of how utterly outrageous the story was at surface level, but in terms of craftsmanship, I found this to be unbelievably cheap and predictable satire. Plot, thematic discussion, and writing style all left much to be desired especially since this is coming from one of the most lauded authors of our generation. Overall, it's not a terrible book but is probably one of the more disappointing books I've read this year.
