this was my first book by james baldwin, who was an african-american writer, playwright and activist. this book explores race, economic class, love, hope, and disparity. there are so many emotions that baldwin evokes. i would be remiss if i didn’t encourage everyone to read this beautifully book. i laughed and cried. this is the type of book that stays with you, long after you’ve read it.
