Great addition to the universe of gothic literature. It has tons of classic gothic tropes—somnambulism, the blurred line between sanity and insanity, haunts, etc., and was a fun read. I was slightly disappointed by the ending and felt it was a bit rushed after such a grand climax, but overall I enjoyed the story and thought it explored the horrors of colonialism and eugenics well.
