I have liked these series, with my first foray into more fantasty/spooky cosy mysteries, first encounter with e j copperman and the narrator Amanda ronconi who I think is really great at bringing the characters to life!
This one brings back the "swine" and his business dealings gone wrong. I usually get put off with "swine" heavy books in this series but I enjoyed this! It was great to see Melissa growing into a teenager and looking at her parents through new eyes rather than a child's.
This was one of the first in the series I thought really dragged? When I thought it was nearly over there was 2 and a half hours left. I did like the last 2 hours but was a bit dissatisfied with the ending?? Paul is usually so integral to the investigation and because he was more in his own world this book I felt his departure at the end didn't have the impact it should of? i know there are more books in the series, but if I had been reading/listening to this as it came out, I would have thought this was the end of the haunted guesthous and would have been disappointed!! I am unsure i have the capacity to carry on with this series because this book was hard to get through. Maybe if I have a break I will come back to it because I have enjoyed these books! i loved that Alison and her boyfriend got married! That was so lovely!
