To Bind Fire by D.E. Carlson
5.0
This is a stunning world of elemental powers, a journey of self discovery, and an epic fantasy adventure with dire stakes.
The characters are varied and have their own motivations, conflicts and loyalties, and the plot is well paced, engaging and beautifully written.
I feel invested in all the characters journeys and the intriguing prophecy and fate theme following Iris, and the uncertainty of which path she may choose as she's swayed by trust, faith and the allure of power.
Told from 2 main POV following 2 young adults journeys both innocent and naive characters and both equally trapped, one in a role they don't want, and one in a role they didn't expect, but that you anticipate will merge together on a destined path.
There's drama, mystery, action, romance, and dragons!
Excited to read the next book and learn more about Jacin, Casandra, Prince Besaun and Iris's found family of travelling merchants.
