The Woman at My Wedding by L.G. Davis

4.0

Netgalley and Bookouture Audio just put me on to a new favorite in the lite psychological thriller genre and now I want to put you on too!

The Woman at My Wedding by L.G. Davis – 4 stars (Pub date June 13. 2024)

Brynn and Nathan are in love, they have settled into their dream home on the ocean, and their wedding is in a few short weeks.

Brynn is home planning the wedding with her best friend Hannah and her wedding planner Ellena, while Nathan is away working on the trial of a woman accused of murdering her last three husbands. Brynn wants nothing more than to have the perfect wedding day and start her new life when her husband returns.

When Debbie shows up on her doorstep, things start to go sideways. Fast.

Creepy gifts, missing wedding items, canceled plans, and even more obstacles get in the way while Brynn works hard to keep everything on track.

Author L.G. Davis takes us on a wild ride through a group of people where everyone has something to hide and no one is who they seem. An avid reader of lite psychological thrillers will pick up on the red herrings right away, and might even notice the missing details, but I can guarantee this book will leave everyone with a sense of What the Eff did I just read?? Which is what we all come for and Davis does it well.

L.G. Davis writes a lite thriller in the company of Freida McFadden. If this first book, gifted to me from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review, is a solid example of her work then I am excited to begin diving into her backlog!

I listened to this book on Audio. Narrator Laurence Bouvard did a great job with the majority voice of Brynn, I got a good feel for her age and personality, and the minor character voices were both clear and distinguishable. This was a pleasant listen.

Notes:

The Woman at My Wedding is the first in the Broken Vows series

Publish date is expected to be June 13, 2024

If you are a note taker, annotator, or just want to go back and check the details, I would recommend a physical copy of this book, however the audio was a fun ride as well!
