Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
3.0
Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson is a historical literary novel that deals with family, racism and tradition.
I'm not really a historical girly but I read this book as part of The Storygraph reads the world challenge Jaimaica (2024). I enjoyed it greater than I expected but felt it still went flat at times. There were too many POVs that skipped around too much.
The writing was beautifully written and the narrators did a great job! I'm not sure I would have chosen this book if it wasn't for the challenge but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
