Superman: Last Son by Geoff Johns

3.0

Eh, okay I guess. I understand it's hard to make Superman a compelling character so it's good not to be total garbage.

I do have some complaints, though. On one of the story arcs, a kid-aged Kryptonian lands, and they decide that the best way to keep him safe is to have him adopted by Clark Kent and Lois Lane, with paperwork forged by Batman. They disguise him by making him wear glasses. That's it, that's the whole disguise, for a person that's been headline news. I suspend disbelief of Superman keeping a secret identity in such a lazy way, but really, the same gimmick twice?

In another arc, he fights Brainiac, a hyperintelligent alien being that has collected countless civilizations, and he beats him by getting angry and punching super hard. Really?

I do have to say that this volume had my favorite onomatopoeia. Supes got bonked over the head with a chunk of crystal and for some reason the noise it made was "FWAACKKO."
