Had a promising premise given our current 'climate' (literal and political) but a few elements didn't work for me, personally (so no hate at all to the author): the motley crew of characters onboard the ship felt a bit rehashed. The main character's backstory was frustrating when you ultimately find out what happens. I think the author is promising but this did feel to me like a grad school thesis, which is okay just not for me.
