The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
5.0
REVIEW UPDATE 1:
give me a few days to gather my thoughts because my mind is barely working right now
AND THIS BOOK IS JUST ALSDNCBERFDJC
if this is on your tbr, you might want to push it up higher
--------------------------
REVIEW UPDATE 2:
it took me a few months to actually write something coherent. This is review is still just some raw thoughts and notes from when I was reading the book. Full review might come as a series review on my blog.
"I write these words in steel, for anything not set in metal cannot be trusted."
plot:
- it’s nice to see vin comfortable in her own skin after ebing sucked in to her troubles and feeling every hardship
- I liked how Elend was so much more than just the love interest in this book, especially when you compare it his charcater in the first book.
writing style:
- what’s unique with this story is how it shows both sides of the “good” and “bad” people, but you are still left guessing how everything will turn out
- previous book focused highly on the plot, detail, and world building while these was able to make the readers sympathize with its characters more
characters:
- OreSeur and Sazed are so precious
- it’s nice to see the others characters humanitized
- Sazed and Tindywl RHVWSDJSND
- Brandon Sanderson knows how to focus on characters without the world revolving around said characters
- ZANE ZANE ZANE
- ZANE is such a unique anti-hero and I LOVE IT
- he doesn’t hate elend, even from the start
- it’s not petty
- he descriptions are so accurate
-------------------------
