I don't know if it was just me but this was an absolute chore to read! For nearly the first 200 pages of this book I totally hated it. I kept pushing through because it is such a unique perspective on an apocalyptic/zombie/extinction tale but it took me THREE DAYS. Which is crazy for me. Normally I'd read a book this size in about 3 hours. Toward the end I did start to enjoy it more but I think this is just one of those books that you either love or loathe. There is some beautiful and brilliant writing happening here but it just wasn't for me. If you're curious, it's a zombie apocalypse told from the perspective of a domesticated crow names Shit-Turd, ST for short. There are some really neat concepts in the book as far as how nature connects and communicates, and also how the world rebounds and reinvents itself in the absence of man.
