This story picks up right where we left off from Conquered - Safiya is fighting to survive her time with the Khasar and hoping that her Lorem will come for her. Her men go through a journey to get back to her and then another journey trying to keep her safe. Safiya and Meriah (her keeper) finally have a nice bond going and it’s a little sad that Meriah gets left behind at the palace. An epic battle of sorts happens in this book and it shows the growth that Saf has gone through in this book; even after getting tossed backwards into her unhappy memories again. We are left with a cliffhanger at the end of this book and I’m dying to know what happens!

** Personal Thoughts**

This was such a great continuation of Safiya’s story. We get to see more about the Khasar and life at his court as well as a bit more from the Lorem men. Sinclair continues to build a world for her characters that makes everything come alive with small details throughout. I am very excited to see what she has in store for the next book coming out in the Inertia Series.
