The premise of the story - anti-heroine rise to power from a pure girl - was intriguing, but turned dull as the story progressed. The conflict between love and power was a good idea poorly executed. Gave up after a 100 or so pages. Liked the language, although the narrative seemed more descriptive and "cinematic" that made me care even less about the characters' fate.
