Great installment in this series. As always, Bujold expands the world and characters in her space opera, with Miles Vorkosigan (in his new role as Auditor) going to investigate a major accident. Unlike a number of the previous books, there is little action but a lot of mystery-solving, albeit in the Columbo way where you know a lot before he does. She gives a lot of life to Ekaterin (and her troubled marriage). Unlike some series, Bujold never gets in a rut and is always finding entirely new things to say.
