Funny Story by Emily Henry
3.0
I think I loved the first half more intensely than the second half. At some point Daphne and Miles’ issues become just a tiny bit cliché as the romance progresses further, making them look like they were just background for the story instead of its core. The same with Petra and Peter; they felt like Disney villains and not real people??? And this is what I absolutely adored about these characters - how they were working through their own shit because bad things don’t get put on hold when you fall in love. Love has a tendency of placing even more spotlight on buried feelings and it makes it all the more dangerous that you can lose yourself in the other person trying to escape your own spiral.
