I‘m not sure what I think about this book. I think the fact that the chapter were published previously as short stories, doesn‘t really help it and makes it consuming disjointed at times. I really like the beginning and the end but I almost quit in the middle, because it was quite gruesome (look at the content warnings). I still feel like I learned some things about Korean history from the last century.
