Lovely, silly, with a touch of cute sarcasm.
Mother Tongue Notes: one of Willems’ easier early reader books. The illustrations are very helpful for predictive reading. More difficult vocabulary is repeated, lending confidence. If dividing the reading, the more advanced reader should read Piggie’s parts. A third reader could also read the birds’ 3 short lines.
