True crime podcaster goes head to head with a grumpy sheriff who is suspicious of outsiders. Both are trying to solve a local cold case and the banter is bantering. The groveling isn’t overdone. The tension is everything. The small town is quaint and hurting from a painful past.

Throw in a feisty 3 legged cat, a camper van, a long list of suspects and decades of pain and grief in a gorgeous mountain town setting…gah. So good!

“Lawman”, Ridley greeted
“Chaos”, I returned

Best nicknames!

Did I guess the bad guy? Hell no. Not even close.
