This was a quick read. I liked the selection of short stories the book offered, it was an excellent glimpse into the beginnings of the detective story genre. Poe is famous for how well he captured dark atmospheres in his writing, and it was evident in these stories too. I really enjoyed it. This book is great for anyone who's interested in exploring more of Poe's writing.
