The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
5.0
I'm just gonna start off by saying: THIS BAD BOY IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE ROMANCE NOVEL CAN YOU HEAR MY SCREA-
alright.
Apparently!! I'm pretty much into academia romances. (Who would've thought...)
I liked how well the world was written. Before starting it, I thought I'm gonna get bored with the science parts (since I hate science with my whole wretched heart.) but I actually found myself excited about it since it was totally well written and learning.(lmao)
Fake-dating trope is something that can get pretty cliche if not written well enough...but Ali Hazelwood outdid herself (and everyone) with this one.
Olive was an amazingly good character. An independent, strong and smart woman who knew exactly what she wanted and where she wanted to be. Plus she was really funny and I might've laughed WAY too hard at her jokes. I loved her ups and downs and the way she dealt with her problems.
Adam Carlsen. Adam fucking Carlsen. What is it to say about him? Maybe I didn't read enough romance novels to know this, or maybe it really IS like that, but main-love interests like Adam are pretty rare to find.
Idk how to explain this but characters like adam? Quite, moody and mysterious who would make people cry with their opinions and cruelty? I only know a few. (Which basically all of them are serial killers lol.) Technically, I was in love with him even before reading this book. One glance at the cover and I thought "black hair, tall and surprised that he's been kissed? Sounds like an investment." There are many aspects of him that I can point out as my favourite BUT I'm gonna go with the fact that: he was a dark and moody professor on the streets, a wild, needy not-so-gentle-anymore beast in the sheets. I LOVED the way his reactions were mostly: "I see." "Okay then." "Of course."
At this point, I can write a thesis based on him but I need to stop because literally no one's gonna read this lmao-
I don't usually rate a book 5 stars.
I don't think I have ever done that...
On the other hand, anything but 5 felt unfair to me.
But really, fuck it, The Love Hypothesis totally deserves this.
alright.
