In The Woman In Me, Britney's honest sharing resonated with me. She acknowledged her own actions, but questioned the lack of scrutiny from the public and the state of California, given she was healthy enough to work but not to take care of herself. The writing felt authentic, as if Britney were speaking directly to me. To me the aim of this book was for her to she raise awareness rather than garner sympathy, considering her existing public support. Her treatment by others was appalling and raised significant societal questions.
