Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson
3.0
Though dated in a way that throws the occasional very alarming racism (one suitor is quite unsuitable because of his perceived Jewish heritage!!) or old-fashioned societal norm (a little "physical correction" is perfectly acceptable as long as it's from the right man!!) at you, it's still a charming and fun read for the most part.
For some reason, I'd heard the title before and always assumed Miss Pettigrew was some kind of Beatrix Potter hedgehog character.
