Nice new addition to the series. Liked that there was a time jump and that despite his obvious natural talent for command and capabilities Ishmael didn't just jump to captain in less than a year.

I kind of knew his wife was cheating on him the moment she didn't put up a fuss he was leaving and when the shirt he put on was too tight. I'm curious why there was very little mention of some of the characters from the first three novels that had significant impact on Ishmael, like Brill, but anyway it was a fun and entertaining read.
