This is EH’s Happy Place except Canadian, not super sad and starts as teenagers @ a cottage. It goes back and forth in time which I thought I would hate, but didn’t. Actually… it’s probably more like EH’s People We Meet on Vacation with the way it goes back and forth showing a relationship development, but whatever. (I didn’t feel like I was reading a copy of another book because it’s not, just structured like PWMOV).
ANYWAYS.
I’m a sucker for a book I can identify with and obviously growing up in eastern Ontario and having gone to Queen’s, I loved those references in the book. I loved that it’s partly set in Barry’s Bay and the small-town cottage stuff that I know about but never really got to live except via friends’.
Can’t wait to read Carley’s next book!
