I can accurately sum up this book in two words:
Emotional Damage

Did we, the readers, do something to piss Ruocchio off? 😂
The closest I can come to conveying how this book felt to read is how it felt watching Spider-Man 2, but without the insanely satisfying comeback ending 😂

This could actually be better compared to the story of Jesus, and the horrible cross (physical and metaphorical cross) he had to bear towards his end. This entire book was both depressing and captivating.

I will admit this book was quite slow for the first 20%, I really found myself not being drawn back to it's world, but then the story got interesting and I couldn't put it down, more so than any of the other books in the series to be honest.

I quite literally have no idea where the story can go from here, I'd usually think that a bad thing, but things have changed so much and Hadrian has changed so much, that I do not know where Ruocchio will take us.

I am so bloody glad there's no short story after this and I can jump straight into Ashes of Man 🥳
