It took me a long time to get into this book. I knew this revolved around a baking competition, but I wasn't expecting the focus for such a big portion of the book to be on very detailed descriptions of baking. Honestly, that got kind of boring fast. I loved the parts where the judges were giving their feedback, but the actual baking part wasn't that interesting. Nonetheless, the second part of the book was so entertaining to me, I was intrigued by both the disappearance that took place in the past as well as the murder that took place in the present storyline, the red herring in this made me so angry, but I ended up really liking the resolution to the story. Also, I really enjoyed some of the friendships that developed as the book progressed.
