A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Silver Flames
Sarah J. Maas
I was beyond excited for this book to come out. And even though it wasn’t quite what I expected, I loved it so much.
What I think was the main plot was not that memorable. I must confess I don’t even recall the names of the villains. However, it didn’t matter to me.
I fell in love with Nesta’s journey of grief and depression and the slow healing she went through during this book. She struggled with things that I relate to.
Sometimes I just wanted to punch her in the face for the choices she made. But she always quickly made up for it. And I didn't always approve of what she did, but I could understand why she did what she did.
Another thing I liked about this story was the organic way Nesta formed her friendships and relationships in general. In comparison with Feyra - when she came to the Night Court, Rhysand's friends became her friends. Nesta and her relationships were more complicated, had their ups and downs, took more time to forms these connections. They are HER friends. By the end, they meant everything to her.
I also liked how different was her point of view from Feyra's. Everything and everyone had new additional dimensions, thanks to that. And how she viewed things changed during the book, along with how she was changing.
Overall I don't remember a lot from the main plot, but for me, it wasn't even the primary thing of this book. I saw myself in so many of the situations and struggles. It was real on another level for me.
There is one more thing I should mention, and that is the spice. It's mentioned a lot in association with this book, so it's only fair. The smut and the spice for me were on point. I fairly enjoyed them. It wasn't always happening at appropriate times, but I can appreciate it.
So how did I rate this book? I gave it five out of five stars on Goodreads. I did it not because of the story but because it resonated with me so deeply. And I know that I will pick this book back up and read certain parts again and again.
